5 PARADISIACAL BEACHES YOU NEED TO VISIT

PALOMBAGGIA

It is located at the southern end of the island of Corsica (France) and extends for two kilometers. The French know it as "the island of beauty" (île de beauté) and long before, the Greeks baptized it "the most sublime" (kallisté). It managed to maintain its natural heritage after a complex history.

The water on its beach is warm, transparent and calm, is perfect for snorkeling. Actually, its geography is perfect in general. In the north you can see granite cliffs, in the south you can see beaches of soft sand and a super crystalline sea; in between, olive and chestnut forests, fir and larch trees. Here you can enjoy the most tropical climate in France.

This beach is very close to Porto Vecchio (famous for its marina) and has a long fishing tradition.

Looking to the horizon you can see the archipelago of the Cerbicale islands, made up of five uninhabited islets (Forana, Piana, Maestra Maria, Pietricaggiosa and the Vacca and Toro rocks) that are part of the Réserve Naturelle des Bouches de Bonifacio, refuge of birds, some in danger of extinction.

In high season, the northern part of Palombaggia beach is usually the busiest. If you go at that time and you are looking for a bit of tranquility, you can go to what is known as the second most beautiful beach in Corsica: Tamaricciu, with pink sand, separated from Palombaggia by a rocky strip of land.

If you want to go a little further, you can visit nearby cities with history such as Ajaccio and Bastia.

To have the best panoramic view we recommend going to: Col de Thegime, from where you can see the island of Elba and the Pertusato Lighthouse.

Luxury accommodation:

- Les Bergeries de Palombaggia with rustic architecture has eight rooms and nine suites (with their own private patio). La Table de Min restaurant has an outdoor section from which you can see the Cerbicale islands.

This hotel also has some tremendous villas located in the hills that have a private pool and terrace with a Jacuzzi.

- Don César, also located in Porto Vecchio, has 39 rooms and is located right in the middle of a forest very close to the sea. The hotel offers a spa and boat rental to tour the surrounding beaches.

- Hotel Ambassador Palombaggia is located just 300 meters from the beach, with a rural and elegant atmosphere.

But there are other cheaper options around Porto Vecchio.

CALA DI VOLPE

There are four beaches located on the Italian island of Sardinia. They call it the Emerald Coast because of the color of its waters.

It is surrounded by vegetation, rocks and white sand. The main cities and towns in the area are: Arzachena, Olbia, Porto Cervo (the main center), Liscia di Vacca, Capriccioli and Romazzino.

Every year the "Sardinia Cup" sailing regatta is held during the month of September. Also the Italian film festival (held in Tavolara) and a vintage car rally.

Popular activities here are: windsurfing and kitesurfing. In addition to taking boat rides and snorkeling.

UTILA

It is located in Honduras. It is a small oasis of only 11km but it has 60 points for diving. To get there you must travel to the city of La Ceiba and from there take the ferry.

It is one of the six islands known as the "Bay Islands". It is part of the Mesoamerican reef, the second largest reef barrier in the world.

According to CNN, it is one of the most accessible and with the lowest prices in the entire Caribbean. And it is also considered the cheapest place to get a diving license.

The town has narrow streets and colorful wooden houses built in an English style of architecture. You can breathe a calm air, you can walk safely at any time of the day. It is also a good place to observe the huge whale sharks (they are harmless, they do not eat meat) and it is full of small hotels, restaurants and local markets to explore.

The best attractions in Utila are: Utila Cays, Utila Dream, Bando Beach, Iguana Research & Breeding Station, Coral View, Utila Chocolate Co.

An interesting fact (and a story that was passed down from generation to generation) is that it is believed to have been the setting for the famous book starring Robinson Crusoe.

.

Shelby McNab made sure to leave several sheets in different parts of the town that assure that it was so and affirms that he has the evidence to prove that this is the island where Crusoe was shipwrecked. At the bottom of the sheet he adds his contact number: +504 3388 9816.

This island is quiet and cheap. If you want something with more life you can visit its neighboring island: Roatán.

MALDIVES

These islands located in southern India have become a highly chosen destination for their paradisiacal views.

There are 1,200 coral islands distributed in 26 atolls, its climate is hot and humid and it has turquoise waters.

The best time to go is from December to April when there are no storms.

There are several activities to do, such as: night fishing excursions, eating on a boat surrounded by hammerhead sharks, taking a seaplane ride to see the islands, getting beauty treatments at their locations and more.

Another activity to do is to go to its capital: Malé. It's good to get to know a little more about the island life beyond the resort. Next to the sea there is a memorial to the victims of the 2004 tsunami. You can also cool off with a coconut in hand (just as you see in Pinterest pictures), visit the Friday Mosque (also called Hukuru Miskiiy), visit the fruit and vegetable market and go up to one of the exclusive terraces (like the one at the Traders hotel) for better views of the place.

Regarding gastronomy, a typical dish is the mashuni salad (canned tuna with coconut, chilies, lemon and onion joined with the country's traditional bread, "roshi", a version of the Indian or Sinhala "roti"). Many choose to eat this with fruit juice or black tea.

It can be seen that the Maldives' culture is influenced by (amongst others) its distant neighbors in India; for this reason, many of the dishes remind us of Indian curries with a sweeter touch due to the added coconut.

As for accommodation, it is possible to find something cheap, but if what you want is to sleep in the typical paradisiacal places that you see in many photos, you will have to invest a little more.

Remember that the Maldives is a Muslim country, so if you are a woman, they ask to adapt to local customs and cover your shoulders and knees if you are outside the hotel area.

MATEMWE BEACH

In the northeast of Zanzibar, in Tanzania. It is known by its white sand and its variety of palm trees. Its environment is practically virgin.

You can snorkel or deep dive and see the coral reefs. Also visit the fish market where children can be seen beating the octopuses in the sand to soften them.

In general, accommodation prices are quite high. And you have to know that

the town is very traditional, so you have to go out with your legs and arms covered.

If you have time, visit Mnemba Island located in front.
