Being in Barcelona there are many very interesting cities and towns to visit:
COSTA BRAVA
It extends from Blanes to the French border, in the province of Girona. There is a huge variety of destinations to visit, each one with its incredible beaches and coves.

SITGES
Coastal town located 40 kilometers south of Barcelona. Very frequented by the artistic vanguards since 1890. It is a destination for the whole year with modern and colonial style houses.
It became famous for its beaches and for the film festival. You should not miss the old fishermen's neighborhood with its white houses.
You should also visit the Cau Ferrat museum, the Palacio Maricel museum and the church of San Bartolomeu, one of the city icons.
GIRONA
The largest city in northern Catalunya. Its old town preserves Romanesque and Gothic buildings.
MURA
This town is located in the Natural Park of Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac. It has stone houses dating back to the 10th century; It developed from the Romanesque church of San Martín.
You can see several corners of rural architecture.
DELTA DE L'EBRE
It is located to the south, in the province of Tarragona. It is the wettest area of Catalunya.
MONTSERRAT
On the mountain you can spot the Montserrat Monastery, founded to commemorate the apparition of the Virgin.
VILLA FRANCA DEL PENEDÉS
For wine lovers, one hour to the southwest of Barcelona you will find a very important wine area known as the "Wine Capital". Here you can visit one of the oldest wine museums in Spain and several wineries.
It has wide expanses of vineyards in the middle of a historic town surrounded by streets with modernist buildings.
You can also visit its Basilica of Santa María.
Do not forget to climb its bell tower from where you can see spectacular panoramic views that extend to the mountain of Montserrat.
TARRAGONA
On the Costa Dorada, with great archaeological value; declared a World Heritage Site.
SANTA COLOMA DE CERVELLÓ
On the outskirts of BCN, half an hour from the city center. It is where the Colonia Güell is located (another magical creation by Gaudí) .
In his church, Gaudí set up a design laboratory where he was able to experiment with different solutions thinking about the great work of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
RUPIT
100 kilometers north of BCN, of medieval origin with the remains of a castle from the early 11th century that extends over a hill next to a river.
VIC
An hour and a half from BCN, of medieval origin. Its great Plaza Mayor stands out, the second largest in Catalonia. You shouldn't miss trying the handmade "salchichón de Vic".
You can find a reconstructed Roman temple and the Sant Pere cathedral. In it you will find the paintings made by the local artist José María Sert, considered the best mural painter in the world in the '30s.
There is also the Episcopal Museum, with great Romanesque and Gothic works that make it one of the most important in Europe for medieval art.
MANRESA
One hour from Barcelona, it has two monuments that are worth knowing:
- La Seu de Manresa, a large Gothic-style basilica. It is located on top of a hill. It was built by the same architect of the Catedral Del Mar (Sea Cathedral) in Barcelona, you can see its similarity. Inside you can appreciatte the great altarpiece from 1394, the artistic jewel of the basilica.
- The Cave of San Ignacio de Loyola, which places Manresa on the map of great religious pilgrimages.
